Tutoring Time is Fun Time

Introduction: I'm a great writing and reading tutor because I have fifteen years and more in this field. Teaching and tutoring TEFL/ TESOL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) overseas (in Taiwan) has enabled me to acquire so much experience in this field. The parents of these children and teenagers have been very happy and satisfied in their children's progress in reading and writing. My adult students also have experienced improvements in their reading and writing (GEPT, TOEFL, and IELTS exams). I'll take/ tutor my student(s) step by step. In writing essays, long articles and papers, the first step is brainstorming. Then I'll have the student(s) write a draft outline and finally, a complete outline. Then, I'll have the student(s) write topic sentences, etc., until they build up writing several coherent sentences. Of course, I'll tutor them the mechanics and punctuations of writing. Review of grammar may be necessary. As for tutoring reading, it's also a step-by-step process. I'll make sure he/she is well enough in phonics and spelling before going to the actual reading part. I'll encourage the student(s) to read out loud (besides reading silently to himself/herself). If the reading pace is slow at first, it's okay, but as the student(s) read(s) more and more, I'll encourage the student(s) to read faster and faster. Reading levels will be increased steadily. I'll ask the student(s) questions about the reading to check their comprehension. I'm a great Mandarin Chinese tutor for several reasons. First, I have a Chinese heritage; my parents immigrated to the United States in 1967. I often speak to my parents in Mandarin Chinese.
