I hired Andy to remove about 200 sq ft of tile on a concrete slab and about 160 yards of carpet. He did an excellent job, a really excellent job!! He was very professional, vacuumed the floors, and even ground some high places on the slab to make the tile installation job easier on the next sub. I was so impressed with the results that I gave him the job of carpet installation and tile. Hopefully this is the beginning of a long term business relationship

I hired Jobert to replace my sliding bypass closet doors with French open doors. When he was here, I also asked if he could fix the pavers in our driveway that had become dislodged and scattered. He was able to do both projects in one day and we're happy with his work. He is prompt, friendly and professional.

Hired him to remove a pool handrail that was embedded in concrete. He was over within the hour and had it out within a few minutes. he left the holes clean and no sharp edges, just as I had asked. He's a general handyman and can do many different jobs, so I'll definitely be hiring him again when I've compiled a list of little repairs that need doing around the house. Good guy.

Don did a lot of repairs for me that a previous contractor did not complete properly. These repairs were done to windows, bathrooms, front door, patio, kitchen, driveway and such. Everything was done in a professional manner and he kept me up to date. He also had great knowledge about everything and gave good advice and suggestion. He kept his word and was always on time. His prices were also reasonable

I cannot say enough good things about this company. Hector has three qualities you do not find in South Florida- he returns your calls, he shows up, and the quality of his work is excellent. I have a stamped concrete driveway that was damaged he removed the damaged portion and blended in the new driveway keeping the same pattern.

Onsite Project Solutions turned a house into "our home" for my son and I. All rooms were painted, all new baseboards, trim and interior doors were installed, doors were relocated, new built in closet systems installed and the BEST part is my new whole home concrete floor that reminds me of the beach! That was all completed Spring of 2015 and now they are back to create a very modern, custom concrete bathroom!

It was a pleasure working with Shaun and his crew. They were very professional and accommodating with my requests. They not only remodeled my master bathroom, but also installed tile in my master bedroom, and other various projects around the house (exterior house painting, gutters, plumbing work, closet installation). As part of the bathroom remodel, they took out a sliding glass door that was inside the shower stall and closed it up with a concrete wall and added a window. Shaun is very knowledgeable and is excellent at finding solutions to questions that may arise during the job. His pricing is very fair, and the work that he does is excellent. I felt very comfortable with Shaun and his crew. They are trustworthy, dedicated, and have great attention to detail. I am very happy with the work done to my house. I will definitely call Shaun again for future projects.

Patrick Forshee has helped our family with numerous projects at both our business and our home. The improvements he and his company have helped us with include framing, concrete work, window installation, polished concrete flooring, painting, cabinetry installation, plywood backing in walls, drywall finishing, and stucco work. He has a large crew of seasoned employees that are experienced and knowledgeable. They work fast and keep the job site clean. Patrick thank you so much for your patience and cooperation. Renovations sure bring out the personality of the owners and I just appreciate all of your guidance from beginning to end.

Large home 6K square. Used used C&K 4 different times, was extremely satisfied with the work and the reason I kept on calling them back and will continue to do so. 1. Kitchen completely remodeled from floor to higher ceilings. 2. Two downstairs bathrooms remodeled. 3. Roof cleaned and sealed, house painted, pool deck and front driveway painted and sealed. 4. Large master bathroom remodeled switching shower to another location, new fixtures, etc. Was not worried it could not be done. I'm very picky and so is Chris doing the work, one of the reasons we got along. Would I use them again? Heck yes!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do you find a good concrete contractor?

Concrete contractors pave driveways, build foundations for homes, install retaining walls, create hardscaping for front and back yards, build concrete steps, and so much more. When searching for a driveway contractor, read reviews from previous customers and ask for referrals. Ask the contractor for photos of examples of their work that’s similar to what you want. Confirm they will get the proper permits so your driveway is up to code. Hiring a driveway contractor to install concrete can average $5-$6 per square foot, or more, depending on where you live, the slope and grade of the driveway site, and regional labor costs. For a new asphalt driveway, the cost could average from $3-5 per square foot. A standard concrete driveway of 500 square feet averaging $5-$6 per square foot would cost $2,500-$3,000 — so it pays to research someone who will do quality work. Excavation and grading work can increase your cost per square foot significantly. Ask whether the contractor provides a materials and labor warranty for their work. Some cracking of the concrete may occur as it settles, but you should talk with your contractor about any structural or aesthetic concerns you have. When hiring a concrete contractor, check out our tips for smart hiring on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to redo a concrete driveway?

Replacing or renovating a damaged or time-worn asphalt or concrete driveway can boost your curb appeal and add to your home value. If your concrete driveway is nearing 20 years or more, it may be wise to invest in an entirely new driveway, instead of redoing your current one. Asphalt driveways average 15-20 years of life, so if you start needing major repairs around the 15 year mark, weigh the pros and cons of repairing or replacing it. Request bids from two to three driveway contractors to determine pricing and project scope, and check out our tips for smart hiring on Thumbtack. Here are some examples of average costs:

  • The national average cost to hire a concrete specialist is $2,750, but that price can vary greatly depending on the work needed to repair and resurface your concrete driveway, the square footage of the project, current costs of concrete, and regional labor rates.
  • Driveway contractors average $2-$3 per square foot to smooth and resurface your asphalt driveway.
  • Resurfacing concrete driveways averages $3-$10 per square foot. Pricing can depend on repairs needed, project size and geographic location.
  • Nationally, the average cost for resurfacing a 500-square-foot driveway ranges from $2,000 to $5,000.
  • Sealant for a concrete drive can cost $20-$80 per gallon.
  • Sealant for an asphalt drive averages 25 cents per square foot.

What do paving contractors do?

Paving contractors can be hired to install a concrete or asphalt driveway at your home, office or property. They can also repave an asphalt or concrete driveway that has been damaged by time, weather or heavy loads. When you are looking for a driveway contractor, request quotes from at least three professionals who are in good standing and have great customer reviews. They should do a site visit and write you a bid, detailing the work involved, materials needed, approximate length of the project and estimated cost.

The site for your new driveway will determine costs and the work required for your contractor. First, the ground must be excavated to lay a clear path. This means removing any trees, bushes and stumps. Next, the driveway contractor will grade the area, making a level surface for the concrete or asphalt. To ensure proper drainage, driveway contractors should install a sub-base of compacted gravel (or similar) 4 inches-8 inches deep, depending on your soil type. Then the concrete or asphalt may be poured and smoothed over the top. Your driveway contractor should recommend an appropriate sealant for your climate and advise you on curing time.
