I recently converted a rarely used patio into a home office. I finally decided I needed to replace the AC unit that had been there for years with a new more efficient and more quiet unit. The drywall was installed and completely surrounded the unit with no room to work with. Jay accepted the job and dealt with all the little challenges this job presented. He finished up within 10 minutes of his estimated time and price was exactly as quoted. He was prompt, responsive and professional. I will be definitely using him again in the future.

We needed stall doors installed in our school and Jay came to look at the project to give his best quote and provide suggestions which were greatly appreciated. He did the work in one day which worked perfectly for us as we can't afford to have a school bathroom out of service for too long. Jay returned the next day to do last-minute touch-ups, we appreciated the attentiveness to leave a job well done. A-1 Quality Renovations is an excellent company to call on for your home repairs and installations. Jay responded promptly to our request the same day. Although, this survey system only allows us to select 3 areas to highlight, I must say that A-1 exceeded my husband’s and my expectations in all 5 areas. Jay was very professional, responsive, courteous, punctual, and the value was shown in his work. You can tell that Jay takes pride in his work and strives for perfecting his many crafts and skills. He does not settle for just creating “make do” solutions but does quality work and stands behind his work. We had a microwave replaced, mounted, and installed as well as many televisions relocated and mounted on the walls. Jay has many other craftsman’s skills in doing home repairs, renovations, and installations. We have surely found a one stop shop man to take care of any additional work that we may need to our home, in the future! Jay did an amazing job. It very much exceeded my expectations. He pays so much attention to detail and is very much a perfectionist in what he does. Every time something was completed, he made sure I was satisfied with the outcome and all the time I was. It is so difficult to find someone that can take care of every household fixing need and Jay was able to deal with everything from electricity, plumbing, floors, paint, installation, etc.... Thumbtack recommended Jay to me and I'm recommending Jay to you. He delivers on what he promises. His prices are fair, he is very communicative, and once he commits to doing the job, he's there until it gets done. Every job has a few things that go wrong but Jay is determined to get the job "done right" and made the corrections needed until it met our expectations. He's got a broad range of skills which every great handyman should have. Our project included new LVT floors, new baseboards and trims, redoing some closets, installing new interior and exterior doors, some plumbing work, some basic electrical - then painting, painting, painting, painting... and we're not done yet! What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I’m fair in my pricing. I will give customer an estimate detailing the work that will be completed. Once we agree on the estimate and time of completion. Customer will pay the deposit to start the job and pay the balance upon completion.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I make contact with customer and coordinate a time for me to come out and look at the issue. I discuss the property with the customer to get an understanding of what is needed to complete the job and what is wanted by the customer.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been renovating residential properties for over ten years.
