- What types of customers have you worked with?
The jobs we do vary widely. We have done copy editing for PhD dissertations, resumes, website copy and direct mail development-all for a wide range of companies, from small businesses to large corporations.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask if the company provides free consultations. Work with a company that is willing to listen to your needs. If they are giving you ideas before you have even expressed your true needs, they aren't going to give you personalized, vustomized service. Instead, you may get a canned presentation, which may be cheaper, but NOT better! Make sure you are working with a company that provides one round of free edits.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Writing decent web copy and ad copy is not easy! If it was, everyone would be doing it! Sometimes a company is reluctant to spend money on ad copy and web copy. This makes no sense to me, because no matter how wonderful your product, if you can't bring people to your company or your website, no one will ever know about it! The money you spend on web and ad copy is some of the most important money you will spend. Don't skimp!
