FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a counselor, I am constantly learning, reading, researching and taking CEU's to maintain my license and knowledge. I will always do my best to gain knowledge in my field so that I may be the best therapist possible for my clients.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to become a counselor after working in a High School for three years. I loved the times when students would come to me with their problems seeking advice. I realized the thing I loved most about my job was only about 5% of it; so I decided to do the job that would create that opportunity 100% of the time.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The most important thing about working with a counselor is to ensure that you like him or her. Building a therapeutic relationship is crucial for success. If you do not like the therapist, you will not feel comfortable opening up to them and it will be much harder to build trust. Even if the therapist is extremely qualified, he or she still needs to be a good fit for YOU.
