- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer single private sessions as well as discounted prepaid 3 session packages. All my private training is customized to the needs of each client, their dog & their family. Sessions focus on training your dog while educating you so you can easily live in happy companionship together. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always start with a free phone evaluation. A discussion with a potential new client about their own & their pet's needs enables me to more accurately provide a fee quote. More importantly, this discussion also gives both of us a feel about how confidently we can work together. When the new client is ready, we simple schedule a mutually agreed appointment date & time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a pet service & dog training professional with 30 years of experience of teaching dog owners how to train to live happily with their dogs. For over 20 years, I actively volunteered my expertise to the Miami Obedience Club as one of their group dog class instructors. Although I have not taught classes for MOC for the past few years, they still send me many referrals for dogs that need private training. I am a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers & of Pet Sitters International. I received my Certification as a Professional Dog Trainer from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, the only independent certifying organization for the dog training profession. I completed Cornell University's Certification Program: Solving Canine Behavior Problems. I completed several certification courses at Jack & Wendy Volhard's Dog Training Instructor School & Training Camp. Over the decades, I have taken numerous continuing eduction programs, workshops & seminars for: - dog obedience, tracking, confirmation & agility training - how to instruct & structure dog training classes - to specialize in dog behavior modification & solving dog behavior issues. I only use humane training methods & I am highly trained & skilled at using positive reinforcement training. I have undergraduate degrees in psychology, biology & the health sciences as well as a professional healthcare master's degree in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine.
