I drove for 2 hours on a Sunday morning to meet Jorge for the job but he didn't show up. He sent me a text message later that day to say he had been in a car accident and was in hospital.
A couple of days later I got a message from the same phone from someone called Carlos who said he was Jorge's business partner. Carlos said that he could do the job in Jorge's place. He then said the job would be exactly DOUBLE what Jorge had quoted. I asked why he was trying to charge double the amount and he said prices had gone up in the past week.
Needless to say, I ceased business with this clown company. If people provide a written quote on Thumbtack, they should certainly honor it if they want to maintain a level of integrity.

We are very sorry our quote did not satisfied your needs. But in the summer season all supply and HVAC parts stores increase their prices and in or for us to make profits we need to increase our prices also. We had given you a quote before the prices increase but you denied it. A week later you called us back wanting our services again. Unfortunately the summer prices had already increase.
