- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start with discussing goals and expectations with student, as well as the experience they may already have. If working with a beginner, we sometimes need to pick out an instrument. I tend to lean towards a well-rounded approach with beginners, usually including an instruction book. For more experienced players I would start matching songs and exercises that fit their abilities.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in music performance from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. I've worked as a freelance musician in New York City, and I have experience teaching private students for over 12 years. This includes a 5 year period working at Mark Murphy's Music (one of the premier music schools in the greater NY/NJ area.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have taught students of all ages, and all skill-levels from beginner to college age and beyond.
