Introduction: I am certified to teach in Sarasota. After 9/11, I taught for 1-2 years in a school system in Sarasota. I have decided after consulting in IT -- using language ability, to return to teaching. I am researching opportunities in Sarasota and Santa Rosa counties. I am excellent at communicating with students. I have had my own children who hated school and were not motivated. It may sound trivial, but it actually inspired me to help those students who, for whatever reason, could not find the motivation or had a block when it came to languages. I love languages. I communicate everyday with friends from university and business who live overseas and do not speak English. Listening to a student's perspective is the best starting point to developing a solution that will enable or enroll the student to begin to embrace the possibility of actually accomplishing the challenge at hand. When, as a teacher and tutor, one honestly has a passion for subject matter and an understanding of students struggles, which I do, this positions the teacher or tutor to begin to build an understanding, which then develops to an opening to begin the required meaningful interaction, which is necessary for actual learning, not just parroting, and lost immediately, but to truly absorb content, and in the case of languages, the ability to communicate in that language.
