  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

PLEASE, make sure you hire a licensed and insured contractor. It is for your protection. for you and your wallet. Please Read this information our Intent is just to educate you. They may be cheaper but what happens if there is an oops? It happens. I have went in and needed to repair and re do these jobs. Now for 1. It has already cost you more to go with that lower price unlicensed contractor. Let us try to shed a little bit of light on why it is so very important to have a licensed contractor. One it shows the contractor cares and protects you 'the customer." Contractors should carry 2 types of insurance.1st Liability will protect you in the event a contractor does damage to your home. Let's say a contractor does damage to your home by moving furniture breaks a window or damages the wall with his tools or ladders? If you think your homeowner's policy is going to cover you, think again. It likely won't unless you've purchased additional coverage for in-home employees. Workman's Compensation. If a contractor's employee who was injured on your property but the contractor did not carry workman's comp insurance for that employee that can cost you also. Your homeowner's insurance policy may help cover the cost to pay the workers claim. After you meet your deductible, but that claim could result in an increase in your rates and make it more difficult for you to get insured in the future. Next The Unlicensed Contractor: Hiring an unlicensed contractor could cost you BIG! If the work does not meet local building codes, or the contractor doesn't pull the necessary permits (which an unlicensed contractor cannot do) You Will Be Responsible for making the repairs to meet code. Allowing work to be redone by an unlicensed contractor could also void your home owners's insurance policy should a claim arise as a result of that work. We hope you choose us for a free estimate but if you don't please hired a licensed and insured contractor for your protection. Thank you. Richard Drake Painting Licensed & Insured. 941-928-5138
