About this pro

How does your business stand out?

It does not cost thousands of dollars to have a website. I am a freelance website developer looking for new clients! I charge $35 per hour and specialize in WordPress and Bootstrap websites for small to medium sized businesses. I can update your current site, or create a whole new one from scratch. I have created websites for a wide variety of clients, including industrial supply companies, radio talk shows, pet sitting, home security, commercial painters, international rock band promotors, professional photographers, yacht charters, taxidermists, and others. Whether you need a e-commerce solution to sell your products, or a simple "business card" site to promote your business, I can help. I love what I do, let me do it for you!

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

I love creating sites that many people will see and use!

    Excellent, Reliable Website Developer
John is a deeply knowledgeable, professional website developer. He is exceptionally knowledgeable of WordPress and seems to love generating as simple as possible solutions to complex problems. He does what he says he is going to do, does his work when he says he is going to do it and is an interesting person to interact with. Moreover, he goes out of his way to help his client understand what they need to understand to be able to continue to work with the website after he has completed his work. If he has a downside, it is that he likes to talk. However, he knows it and asks for feedback if he is talking to much. What's not to like!!

John is very professional, understands what I want in a website. We met , talked for a while, worked out a plan. He put up some of it, now I need to get him the rest of what he needs to finish, but it looks great so far. I am very pleased. Barbara Hill, Gulf Coast Premier

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I bill $35 per hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
New clients usually know what they want, but don't know how to explain it. I have a conversation with new clients to get an understanding of their needs, then offer suggestions of ways we can accomplish it. Budget is usually an issue, so I offer an estimate of my time before we start work, so they have a good idea of what they are looking at, cost wize.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor Degree in Management Information Systems Associates Degree in Computer Information Systems Masters Degree in Business Administration
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved working with website development, and decided to try freelancing as opposed to the "wage slave" system!
What types of customers have you worked with?
International Industrial Parts Suppliers, Home Security Experts, Landscapers, Insurance, Entertainment Promoters, Photographers, Taxidermists, Dog Breeders, Yacht Charters and more.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Most recently I designed a site for a Professional Photographer to display her talents and promote her small business. I built her site in 30 hours.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Get a solid estimate of the time it will take, timeline towards completion, and hidden costs like purchasing hosting and a domain name. Also expect an ongoing maintenance fee, unless you are fairly savvy with computers and the internet.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
What do I want. Do I have examples of websites I have seen and liked? Can I make a list of "must have" and "nice to have" features for my website?
