FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
While fixed prices are usually asked for in order to maintain a budget, the limited information regarding requirements that we receive before placing bids can make an accurate bid very difficult. My rates are relatively high for the first 24 hours of work, (3 days worth) where a large amount of the project discovery and scope are determined. After this first phase, my rate is discounted by 20% for the remainder of the project. If the scope is very large, I am open to negotiating a rate for a long-term engagement.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The majority of my work is related to Drupal development and architecture. I build custom Drupal modules and consult on the implementation of the CMS.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Drupal developers are usually more proficient in either frontend or backend Drupal development. Frontend devs are often called Drupal Themers and they will work on the theme of your site, CSS, Javascript, and responsiveness in design. Backend devs primarily focus on making the site work in the way you have in mind. They write custom modules to add functionality that is not readily available and also work on aspects of site performance. Keep in mind that depending on the complexity of your site, you may need to hire one of each! It will save you time and money to be sure that the work you need done is sourced to the professional with the right skillset.
