FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing will vary based on the type of job. For instance someone needing a small job done, or even several small jobs, these are easiest and fairest priced out as an hourly rate. Whereas a larger job requiring several days or even weeks, these are usually bid as a total dollar amount, and often as labor only. Sometimes I do include material but only basic materials. I cannot include tile or a lot of other finish elements due to the extreme price differences. There could be two, 6 x 6 showers framed and waterproofed to the exact dollar amount, but one shower was tiled with $0.75 per square foot tile and the other was tiled with $10 per square foot tile. That example alone would mean a difference of roughly $1,600 in tile.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
The walk in shower with wood plank tile, and natural stone walls and ceilings that I have pictured was one of my favorites. This took several weeks and this was a text I received from the homeowner, who is a cop in Central Florida, not long after I was finished: "So we have the guys over installing the glass doors for the shower. The guy says he has done this for 20 years and this is the nicest shower he has ever seen. Said the guy who did the tile needs an award! I said it was Diamond Dave who did it. Lol"
