Doug is an awesome teacher. He is extremely knowledgeable and his passion for music comes through in his teaching style. I started with singing lessons, then expanded into music theory and songwriting as well. I have recommended Doug to several friends and would recommend to anyone (from beginner to expert).

I am learning such a lot from Doug! We cover a lot of ground in the 30minute sessions, and as long as I practice practice practice (!) the progress has been great. Structured, with a curriculum that is tweaked to suit my particular strengths and weaknesses, and a lot of fun too! I’m already hearing a richer tone, more accurate pitch, and improved enunciation. I’m especially enjoying trying different genres and styles that would normally be out of my comfort zone; I’m also learning more about music theory so that can communicate better with musicians about what and how to perform - it’s exactly what I hoped to achieve when I was introduced to Doug's lessons.

I’ve only completed one lesson so far but I’m feeling very excited and hopeful. I love Doug’s energy and professionalism. He has the technical expertise to back him up along with a passionate and friendly spunk that translates wonderfully through his teaching. I'm taking voice lessons from Doug for a month now. I can't toot his horn enough ! He knows music inside out...he's honest, encouraging, goes far out of his way to make your lesson go smooth with the max amount of learning . I saw an improvement after the second lesson , my husband noticed, too. Prices are more than fair ! The icing on the cake is that Doug is a happy, upbeat guy with a deep understand of people and life ! I'm happy as a lark and I don't think Doug will be able to get rid of me any time soon...even if he wanted to. :) Rue McDonough Southern California.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is $50/half-hour lessons, or $100/full one-hour lessons. I do offer sales sometimes on my month-to-month subscriptions. Check the website at MyMusicExpert.com for current offers.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I assess each new student's musical skill set in their 1st lesson, and prescribe a logical set of lesson plans that will fill in any areas of missing knowledge/skills, and then I move them forward to their own success in music to reach their goals, whatever they may be.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm the owner, and I have a Bachelors Degree in Music from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. I studied three majors while there: Music Education, Songwriting/Composition, and Music Synthesis (synthesizers, midi, computers, home studio recording, and electronic music). I studied piano for 10 years growing up, and voice for 6 years at Berklee! You are hiring a highly qualified individual in me! 😀
