- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The pricing for concrete flatwork is not standard at all. There is many factors that contribute on how much a project will cost. Smaller projects are more expensive per square foot than larger projects. Some projects need concrete pump, others need more excavation, prices vary. There is noting like looking at the project onsite and hearing from customers what they want to create an accurate estimate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The best way to is to have an appointment with the customers to discuss their project in detail. Then I prepare for them a detailed proposal with the final amount broken down in to line items; I want my customers to understand where the numbers are coming from. Once they agree to my proposal, we proceed with required permits. The project is scheduled once all the permits are obtained.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems from the Oregon Institute of Technology. I learned concrete finishing by working full time in the industry to pay for my college education. I graduated and decided to continue in the construction industry. I truly enjoy working outside. I have been working in concrete flatwork since 1996. Most of my concrete training was in Oregon.
