FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Typically, I go by the industry standard rates of $3 per page for proofreading and $5 per page for editing (much more intensive). However, I am flexible. I encourage potential clients to email me what they have so that I can see how much work the manuscript needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely. In order to keep my Florida bar license active, I participate in many continuing legal education courses. I just completed 30 credit hours of Florida continuing legal education classes in the past year.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Lately, my favorite work has been editing book manuscripts. I love writing and proofreading/copyediting for businesses, textbook companies, professors, students, and anyone who does not want their representation marred by errors. Proofreading is primarily a meticulous check for any spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors. Editing, by comparison, is more extensive than proofreading. Editing can include assistance with layout, phraseology, story development, etc. I enjoy both proofreading and editing; I am here to meet each client's specific needs. I also provide many writing services. Current jobs include proofreading and/or editing personal statements for graduate school, law school, and medical school, and intensive editing of two book manuscripts. I enjoy sharing an author's excitement about preparing his/her manuscript prior to publication.
