FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I work off a flat fee for the photo session and delivering final, edited photos. I tend to deliver a bit more photos than most customers are expecting, so they have more choices options when selecting photos to print. Separate from the session fee, I offer high-quality prints at good pricing, however some people prefer to download the final images and develop the photos themselves - their choice.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
One or several phone calls are typical. I want to discover the clients' wants and needs, and I will also offer suggestions when discussing the photo session. I also send out a "tip" sheet prior to the shoot, which helps people prepare, especially for larger family sessions. If the photo session is scheduled well ahead of the booking I will always touch base with the customers about one week before the shoot.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When looking for a photographer it is important to view the various portfolio galleries of their work, however, a phone conversation should be paramount as well. Try to determine if you will have good report with your photographer prior to hiring, as opposed to just shopping by portfolio and price, particularly if you are hiring for a significant event over a half-day or longer.
