Attorney Bonita "Bonnie" Riggens answered my Internet call for legal help through Thumbtack when no other attorneys would and I sent dozens of request for help to individual attorneys/firms and unknown numerous attorneys through LRS's like Thumbtack. As a retired 20+ year firefighter/paramedic, attorneys not answering my call for help is unknown in my profession. Attorney Riggens' offer, "The consultation is $150 consultation for up to one hour. After one hour the fee is $37.50 per 15-minute period. ", has my highest recommendation, whereby she critiqued my documents, suggested filing strategy, phone consulted colleagues, recommended the best colleague for my specific case, availed herself at $37.50 per 15 minute periods for future consults, and generally went above and beyond the call of duty. Law Office of Bonita M. Riggens's reply
Thanks Steven. As clarification to others reading Steven's review, the $37.50 per 15 minute period only applies when the Initial Consultation extends beyond one hour. Any follow up phone calls or meetings are charged at my normal hourly rate, which is then calculated in 6 minute increments.

Bonita Riggens was exceptional! I hired her to review a contract that I use in my business when clients hire me. She not only checked for legalities, but went the extra mile to read it as a consumer would. She gave advice on the legal end, and also about what changes could improve how a consumer would read the contract. She is very personable and would hire her again!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My pricing is below many attorneys with similar experience and knowledge. My Initial Consultation rate is $150 for the 1st hour. My regular hourly rate is $375 per hour charged in 6 minute increments.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I have an Initial Consultation with the potential client in person, by phone or by email. If the client chooses to retain me, we must enter into a written Fee Agreement signed by myself and the client. At this time the client also must make a refundable security deposit for fees and costs. The amount differs depending upon the work to be done.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    Please see above.
