Introduction: Hello! I have a master's in piano performance and chamber music. I am a professor of piano and theory and a vocal coach at Southeastern University but also teach privately out of my home in Pinellas County. Although I have over 13 years of teaching experience, I am still young and enthusiastic with children of all ages and also love teaching adults. I am classically trained and believe in developing a secure technique and great reading skills but am happy to include all genres in lessons. I believe music should be enjoyed and should be driven by what interests you and keeps you loving music. I also have a strong background in voice and enjoy incorporating singing in lessons, if that is something that you are interested in. We switched to piano instruction with Miss Leah Hunt this year, and have been delighted with the progress that our twin girls are making. Leah has an engaging, youthful personality that translates well to working with young people, but she is also a very serious piano teacher. I am surprised weekly at how much my kids look forward to their lesson, how hard they are willing to work for Miss Leah, and how painless the whole process is. Meanwhile, they are gaining by leaps and bounds. As the person who practices with them, I appreciate how clear their weekly assignment is, how legible Miss Leah's handwriting is, and how interesting the pieces she assigns are. My girls always look forward to playing on her beautiful Steinway, and love her studio. I would not hesitate to recommend Miss Leah to any student that wants to learn excellent technique, a varied and interesting repertoire, but have fun doing it.
