Embodied Singing by Suzie

Suzie specializes in "Embodied Singing" that develops your skill level by learning special techniques to perfect that special song and bring your audience close to you. Expression, dynamics, riffs, upper versus lower lung breathing that will hone your talent and provide you with more control to your vocals. We work on all of your vocal registers: Head voice/falsetto, Chest voice/full voice, Mixed voice (a combination of head/falsetto and chest/full) and Vocal Fry (the glottal, lowest part of your register). We practice "fun" scales, arpeggios and intervals to increase your range and improve pitch. We include Embouchement techniques for phraseology and transitions between registers. We work on proper breathing techniques to increase your lung capacity, improve your tone and core muscles. We break down songs to their very core: Line by line, word by word and note by note as needed to achieve the fullest effect of your performance. I have developed 4 Special Projects for my students who wish to partake. Out of a possible 100% grade, Students can earn credits to be applied toward future lessons, right up to a free lesson. They also earn a Certificate of Accomplishment for display. Simple epiphanies! I love it when I see and hear the "lights" come on; that one tiny thing I have been waiting to hear in their voice and there it is. Sometimes, they don't even know it until I point it out to them. Example, singing from their diaphragm instead of through their nose, be able to sing with all tone and no airiness (vice versa) and the ability to sing a 3+ note riff. The learning curve between a 2 note riff and a 3 note riff is huge. Once you've mastered the 3 note riff, adding notes after that is a breeze. That is my favorite thing to teach. Teaching a whisper to belting it out and back down to a whisper all in the same song.
