Introduction: Many trainers tell you what to do without any real explanation of why or even how to do it, I will teach you both the why and the how of riding. I have extensive training in biomechanics, teaching you how your position effects the horses movement, balance and precision. I teach in a "out of the box” approach using lot of word pictures, number scales, and by feedback, I want to make sure you are actually learning, so I will change my approach if needed, depending on your learning style.

Coming from an extensive on the hunter/jumper circuit, I've seen a lot good trainers, great trainers, and outstanding trainers that you wish you were lucky enough to have. Leif is the latter. He was incredibly supportive as I ventured into this new discipline that was surprisingly far from what I was familiar with. His methods and instruction were superb, and he made certain to acknowledge the positives and end on a good note. During the lesson, he doesn't simply give you instructions that you are expected to follow without conscious thought. He TEACHES, giving you not just the "how" but the "why" behind your position and technique, and it makes all the difference in understanding how your riding affects your mount. There are so many trainers out there that fall short in this respect, and it really makes a huge difference in your riding. I highly recommend Leif to anyone who may be considering him as a trainer, no matter what riding background you may or may not have.

My horse and I have had the privilege of working with Leif for one year now and I couldn't be happier with the results! I began taking riding lessons with Leif on several of his schoolmasters. When the time came to purchase my own horse, Leif, at my request, traveled across the country to help me make a informed and wise decision in finding the right partner. And a great choice it was! I'm so impressed with the knowledge and talent that Leif possesses. He has the natural ability to bring out the best qualities of both the horse and rider, at any level. I have high expectations concerning my horses Dressage career. Together they have made tremendous strides. I know that Paradigm Dressage under Leif's expertise will take him to the top! I was a Friesian owner in S. Florida, and met Leif's wife, Missy on facebook. I later learned that Leif was a trainer, and I knew that I wanted my horse, Czar, to get in for some "gas pedal" training. I signed on for 60 days, and was SO HAPPY that I did! Leif was really comfortable to work with. When I was young, I had a couple of abusive trainers who would holler at me and be nasty, so I am gunshy about learning anything from a "teacher". Leif has the most amazing teaching skills, and he has SUCH a wonderful personality. Truly a kind spirited man, with his students and the horses. I was never uncomfortable with him as "the teacher", when I was in the saddle. His rates were quite reasonable, and now I have a horse that takes his cues and JUST DOES HIS THING! When horses understand what is asked of them, they are so much happier! Leif made this happen for us. So, out of 5 stars, I'll give Leif a 6! Czar and I thank you so much!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer lesson packages that can save you up to 25% off the normal rate. Packages must be used in 1 month.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We discuss experience, ability, and basic goals and then schedule a lesson. Typically lessons are scheduled a week out depending on availability. You can pay with cash, check, Venmo, Zelle or use PayPal with a 5% credit card fee. Deposits are preferred. Please arrive at least 25 minutes before your ride time to groom and tack up the horse.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always in training, in dressage you are never done learning. I continue my education with my coach, olympic rider, Heather Blitz, along with bio-mechanics specialist Mary Wanless clinics when she is in the states and I also ride with USA Olympic team coach and dressage judge, Charlotte Bredahl.
