After being ghosted by 2 different contractors who were referred by friends, we were at the end of our rope. Tried thumbtack for the first time. De Bellis replied instantly, showed up the next day as promised and got started!! Excellent communication, great price and I am soo thankful for them!!!!

Unfortunately, a poor experience. I previously had laminate stairs and the project was to switch to new wood tread, risers and a lighting system. Gerson arrived with a colleague on the first day, when finished, half of the stairs were wobbly with many scuffs, nicks and even some screws/nails showing. I took pictures and texted Gerson (pictures included.) The next day, when walking up the stairs, 3 treads cracked, I shared this as well. I had to buy the replacements. Gerson came the next day while my other contractor was present. Gerson admitted this was "not a good job" and said his colleague "did not install correctly". The lighting system was installed fine. My other contractor also discussed the stair tread/riser problems and Gerson said he would correct. After Gerson finished again, I returned to notice no proper finishing nor covering of all the screws and nails on the risers (photos attached). The new treads were installed from those cracked. After many texts, Gerson said he'd come again (he then did not due to an emergency). After I reached out again, Gerson said he was out of the country and did not give me a an exact date that he could return to fix. I had to continue to reach out and then email, to which months later he finally returned. On the last time to fix everything again, markings remained and the paint job was quite rushed with again, many imperfections, with risers still having scuffs and holes showing (pictures attached). The constant back and forth became quite tense and I finally had to move on as he did not reply to my last text (image provided). The cost of this project was over +$2,500 (which I paid to Gerson De Bellis). I asked for a better price, Gerson was firm with his charge. I had to buy all the materials (around $800 which I bought from Lowes) that Gerson sent exact links for. I had to re-purchase the replacement materials that was not reimbursed. Gerson bought liquid nails to install and I paid him around $150 for that. All in all, almost $3,500 total. For this price, this was quite a rushed job that I then needed another contractor to professionally fix. 2 other contractors came and critiqued this job. Others may have had a nice experience, but my stairs experience was poor and similar to another review I read.

Gerson was so helpful and easy to work with. I had a simple repair job on our porch which he did quickly and thoroughly, all while explaining how to replace things in the future if we choose to do so. He was very fair and accommodating.
