I actually hired Kreg's Custom Carpentry back in mid January to build some built-ins for my dining room. He came out to my house and was very nice and easy to talk to. Once we agreed on a price he requested that I give him a $750 deposit. He told me once he received my deposit, he would give me a time frame and put me on his schedule. I sent this to him the next week but never heard back from him that he received it. I followed up with him the next week and he said he had received it and would let me know a time frame for my built-ins. Never heard back. This type of thing went on for months. I was never once contacted by Kreg's Custom Carpentry to tell me it could be installed, it was always me texting, emailing, calling, leaving voice messages to try to get a response. All in all, this went on for 3-3.5 months of me constantly having to ask when I would get my built-ins installed. Each time he would give me a date then shortly before the day he was supposed to be there, he would tell me he couldn't come and give me an arbitrary date the next week. After the third or fourth time this happened, I sent him a demand letter asking to either have my built-ins installed or he could refund my money. The following week after getting the demand letter, one hour before he told me he would show up, he sent me an email stating he would refund my money. I never received my deposit and I ended up having to file a lawsuit against him in small claims court.
