Introduction: Whether it's a business narrative or a personal story, I want my art to tell stories with the audience in mind. As a designer, I craft visual messages that are clear, meaningful, and targeted. As a fine artist, I create stories that evoke feelings. With my fine art, I want more than a photograph. If I wanted to see a photo-realistic portrait, I would simply go to a portrait studio. It's cheaper. What I want is a piece of art that is painterly and expressive. This is what I offer. My art lessons are unique because they are not simply lessons in technique. They incorporate art history and creative thinking. I want my students to leave with not only stronger ability to manipulate their medium but also the creative mindset to do something truly unique. With my graphic design, my clients get a diverse set of styles meant to suit their brand or design aesthetic along with 17 years experience pleasing hundreds of clients large and small. Spending 2pm with my kids and 2am working instead of the other way around!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I generally charge $40/hr for graphic design work. I provide flat rate pricing on most projects as long as I have a solid scope of work, timeline, and deliverables. Fine art projects are based on custom quotes. Art lessons begin at $10 per student for a small group session of 4-5 students. Private lessons are $25/1.5 hour session. All lessons require a purchase of 4 sessions after the 1st lesson.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was an engineering and robotics student first, but I felt like I was wasting a natural ability so I pursued fine arts. Graphic Design is kind of a compromise between the two in someways.
What types of customers have you worked with?
As far as graphic design goes, I commonly design logos and brochures/other printed collateral. I also frequently design websites or customize website templates the client has purchased. I also rewrite marketing copy and teach art lessons to students of all ages. As a fine artist, I mostly paint portraits although I'd love to paint murals. I am capable of painting in almost any style that you show me.
