Introduction: I belong to the minority of photographers that received college (in my case graduate) education to develop their craft. As a result, every photo I make is the result of many hours invested in receiving critique from the faculty, gallery owners, editors, academic peers and educating ourselves in looking at work from artists from different periods in their own historical context. It's not necessarily better or worst than the work of photographers trained exclusively on the job. It just makes the work different and it works for the clients I serve, which tend to be very conscientious and educated in their purchase process. The chance to meet new people and offering them peace of mind taking off their shoulders the stress of getting their photos made. I like my clients to be able to know they're in good hands so they can relax and have fun if they are present at the shoot.
