Introduction: Are you learning how to swing or are you learning how to hit the ball? I'm a Master Golf Teaching Professional,Titleist Performance Institute Certified and U.S. Kids Golf Coach with 16 years of experience teaching both children and adults of all skill levels. I use a software to film your swing and analysis it in slow motion. I also have FlightScope to track data. I pride myself on being a very patient teacher, who recognizes each student’s strengths and areas that need improvement. I develop a program catered to each individual’s learning style and skill level – from beginner to the more experienced player. During each lesson, you will receive step-by-step instructions. We will go over all areas of the game including: long game, short game, bunker shots, pitching, chipping, and putting. In addition, during course lessons, I teach course management, how to play under various conditions, golf etiquette, and rules. We will also work on the proper mind-set and emotional approach to the game. Modern technology is used during range lessons. I will capture your swing on video for review, and numerous golf training aids are utilized. For juniors: it is important to garner a strong interest in and respect for the game. It is also a must for the students to enjoy themselves while learning the fundamentals. As they say, “practice makes permanent,” and this is the perfect time to learn the proper swing and course management techniques. This is a game that the junior can play for a lifetime.

Golf Lessons

Lawrence's teaching style and view on a golf swing are very intuitive. I like that he's focused on energy and the swing itself, and after one lesson I'm already thinking about my swing differently and making good improvement strides. Would recommend Lawrence to other intermediate golfers in a heartbeat!

Golf Lessons

I’ve played golf for 35 years. I am self taught and shoot in the mid 80’s. After one lesson from Lawrence, I now have the consistency to my game sorely lacked. I no longer grind thru a frustrating round. My mind is “free” to enjoy the game again. Thanks Lawrence!!

Golf Lessons

My initial experience with EFIL was excellent. The methodology focused on the use of posture and rotation to optimize energy at impact.

Golf Lessons

He broke down the fundamentals of a good swing and made it extremely easy to understand and implement. His use of video/pictures really made it click to me. Right after our session I stuck around and hit some more balls using his advice and was hitting the ball straighter and farther than I have ever in my life (actually hit my best shot of ever” 5/5

Golf Lessons

My first 1hr lesson was more than I could ask for. The method and the analogies used to convey the concepts and ideas resonated with me. I had to unlearn some assumptions and now have a start to a foundation of my golf game.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My hourly rate is $100/hr. Package deal is available, please contact me for further information.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I always enjoy meeting new students. I teach beginners working to learn the basics, as well as experienced players, trying to correct any problems and lower their score. For our first meeting, I like to get to know my students. I will determine their experience with golf and history with any other sports. I listen closely to determine their particular goals. Then I will have my students point out their self-assessed strengths and weaknesses related to the game of golf. We will discuss their physical condition and any possible limitations. It is also very important to determine if they learn best visually, verbally or by feel. I will videotape and analyze the students’ swing – looking for proper mechanics or any flaws in the swing. I will check the fundamentals, such as the grip, posture and ball position. We always set short term and long term goals and discuss the best way to achieve them. Because I am also a certified personal trainer, I will assign exercises for golf fitness in order to develop golf muscles and create flexibility for a proper swing. The first meeting is extremely important. It is the foundation for a beneficial golf instructor/student relationship that will set them on the right path. I pride myself on being a patient teacher with a keen eye for detail- sometimes the smallest tweak to a swing can make a world of difference. I want to enable my students to reach their highest potential, while they develop a love for the game.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a Master Golf Teaching Professional (MGTF), certified by the United States Golf Teaching Federation (USGTF). There are only 400 certified USGTF “Master” teaching professionals in the world, also Titleist Performance Institute Certified. I’m a National Fitness Professional Trainer (NFPT). It is a great asset to be a golf coach, with a strong physical education background. My understanding of how the muscles work is a tremendous benefit in teaching the golf swing. My USGTF Master Golf Teaching Professional Certification training focused solely on teaching the game of golf. Many of my new clients ask me if I am a PGA member. I chose not to follow this route, because I do not want to spend time learning non-teaching relating information, such as clubhouse management and event management. I do not want to manage a golf course. Nor do I desire to play on tour. My sole purpose is to teach this amazing game to my students. I do take part in continuing education opportunities that I feel will enhance my teaching. Currently, I have a handicap of 1. It is certain that there are many teachers who score lower than me. But, I firmly believe that being a good golfer, does not make one a good teacher. I did not grow up with golf. I learned the game as an adult. My own process of learning the game has been extremely beneficial to my teaching style.
