- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We ALWAYS do continuing education. From career industry conferences throughout the year to workshops and webinars. We never stop learning and there are always more certifications to earn.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I wrote and critiqued resumes on the side for colleagues never thinking of doing it professionally. I started out in the literary industry as a novelist, but after my tour was over I put it on hold and went back to my day job. We were laid off a year later and while trying to figure out what to do, it was then that I found out about professional resume writing companies (through my sister). I decided to try my hand at writing resumes professionally and within 6 months (the time we waited to be laid off) I opened my first office. As they say, the rest is history.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
We write professional resumes, custom-tailored to the clients' industry or position of interest. We also do interview coaching and resume distribution where we post resumes to up to 30 job search engines and recruiter websites.
