5. Ad-hoc projects – Data entry, cleaning QuickBooks Online transactions, Loan Assistance, etc.
Hiromi-anne Usui, CPA is the founder of Professional Tax Planning, LLC, which was formerly known as Hiromi’s CPA, LLC. Hiromi’s parents owned a Japanese and Fililpino restaurant in Chicago and struggled throughout her childhood. She was initially an auditor for Japanese private manufacturing companies at Corbett, Duncan, & Hubly PC and then moved to being an auditor for Fortune 500 clients at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
In 2016, Hiromi left PwC, freelanced as an auditor and took side tax projects on the evenings and weekends for small businesses owned by the immigrant community. This transition led Hiromi to realize she could not run her firm alone. She tried to hire college students but the amount of training needed, which led Hiromi to have low cash flow and increased cognitive load. Thus, Hiromi took a full time job and spent her days off and weekends taking leadership and management courses to understand her failure as a leader. Along her journey, she revamped her firm, changed the name of her firm, and expanded her workforce to include the Philippines. Hiromi connects talent from the Philippines with business owners in Georgia and California.
By the end of 2020, Hiromi hopes to achieve a self-running firm. By the year 2025, the firm’s objective is to build an office in the Philippines, build a school to create talent, and build visa opportunities for international talent to come to Atlanta. We wish to give talent the skills they need to build their own dream businesses and work with Professional Tax Planning to change the world.
