FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes, I do have a standard pricing system for services. The pricing table is in a PDF and can be shared upon request.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am flexible. I prefer working with a new customer in a manner in which the customer is most comfortable. This style promotes both efficiency and reliability. A typical process would be to have a preliminary discussion via telephone, Skype, or in person. This is an information-gathering session for me, the consultant. I will ask questions to gain a clearer understanding of the client's business needs, including their expectations. From here, I will provide a spec for deliverables (what is to be delivered and when). Afterward, a contract agreement is created and sent via electronically to be executed (electronic signatures are accepted). Afterward, I will create a draft of the work and submit to the client for review. Nine times out of ten, there will be queries (questions) embedded in the document that requires additional clarification. Once the client reviews the draft and answers the queries, the document is sent back to me for rewrite and cleanup. Sometimes, depending on the complexity of the project (business item), this process can take a few days. Once the client provides his or final approval, the document is sent to the client in two forms (PDF and Word). It is basically a straightforward project. Editing projects flow just a bit differently because there's no initial draft being created. Nevertheless, the process of submission and review is pretty much the same.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and a Master's Degree in Social Work (research based). I am a published author, researcher (with published literature), and editor. I have worked as a consultant for various companies in very diverse industries. I have wrote copy for a variety of websites, ghostwritten several works, written and edited screen plays, and edited hundreds of articles (including white papers) and blogs.
