FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is based on the scope of work, materials needed, and the unique conditions of your property. Every job is custom-quoted to ensure you’re only paying for what your yard truly needs, no cookie-cutter pricing or unnecessary upsells. We offer free estimates and are always upfront about costs, timelines, and any potential add-ons. There are no hidden fees, and we’ll walk you through every detail before we begin. From small drainage fixes to full retaining wall builds, we aim to deliver long-lasting results at a fair price. Occasionally, we offer seasonal promotions or multi-service discounts—just ask when you reach out!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We begin with a free consultation to understand your property’s specific challenges and goals; whether it’s drainage issues, erosion, retaining wall needs, grading, or overall landscape improvement. Depending on the situation, this may include an on-site visit or reviewing photos and videos you provide. From there, we create a custom solution tailored to your land and budget, followed by a detailed estimate outlining the scope of work, materials, timeline, and cost. Once approved, we schedule the job and keep communication open throughout the project. On-site, we focus on doing the job right, from correcting water flow to building durable, well-engineered retaining walls or creating a smoother, more functional yard. After completion, we walk the project with you to make sure everything meets expectations and offer guidance on maintaining your results. At Duke of Dirt, we build with purpose—solutions that last and craftsmanship you can count on.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One project we’re especially proud of involved a homeowner struggling with severe washout in their backyard due to poor drainage. Water was pooling near the home and damaging the landscape, making the yard unusable. We designed and installed a dry river bed with a hidden drainage system that redirected water safely to the back of the property. The entire project was completed in just one day, thanks to efficient planning and execution. Not only did we fix the issue, but the dry river bed also added a clean, natural look to the space. It’s always rewarding to transform a problem area into something both functional and visually appealing, and to do it in a single day made it even better.
