DJ CSharp was the perfect fit for our event. We had a celebration of life for my boyfriend's mother who was vivacious, loving and giving. She loved all types of music, the color red and coca cola. Charles was in contact with us from start to finish… We wanted a variety of songs and levels- easy and solemn to blues and Motown to disco and upbeat. He listened to our requests and genuinely cared about us. He made certain that the music played was the right tone for every section of our event. He even went above and beyond when he learned that we were going to have a “Coke” toast (because that was her favorite drink) and he found several video clips from vintage coke commercials that we could play before the toast! Charles has an easy-going yet very professional manner. He arrived early to set up and was dressed elegantly with the pop of red that we had requested everyone wear. He made announcements that we had requested with a clear, resonant speaking voice. He coordinated with the other performers; introducing the pro dancers and running their music- figured out the timing at the beginning of the ceremony with the acoustical guitarist and set up mics for the readings at the podium as well as figuring out a way to mic the slide show! He is exceptional. You will not be disappointed booking him.

DJ Charles did a great job DJing at our 300-person reception. I especially appreciated his availability from the first call leading up to the event. He worked with us on our choreography song and was willing to meet with the venue in person to square away details prior to. We also received automated email reminders about wedding planning leading up to the celebration, which I thought was a lovely touch to the services. He was also able to offer sparklers, which made for a beautiful exit. Overall a good DJ experience!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is on the low-competitive end. I don’t want to break your pocketbook, but I do want to provide you with high-quality service. I do have discounts available for school functions. I also have seasonal specials. Just reach out and we can talk.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like have a face-to-face or phone meeting to discuss the vision for the event and to understand your likes and dislikes. For weddings, I have a detailed process that includes personality, event scheduling, colors, musical tastes, must have and must not playlist, desired DJ attire and persona, and more. My goal is to get to know you as well as you get to know me so that I can be your partner in your event.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a graduate of Scratch DJ Academy (scratch.com) as a certified professional DJ. I also take mixing and scratching courses regularly. In addition, I have taken courses and 20 plus years of public speaking. I’m a lifelong learner, and so I am always finding ways to learn how to improve my DJ skills. I am certified by the School Dance Network as a school friendly. You can learn more at schooldancenetwork.com.
