If you desire a knowledgeable CPA, Mohamed is the one. Upon contact, he responded right away. He dismantled all questions and concerns that my partner and I had regarding tax filing, owed taxes, and W-4 forms. Before filing our taxes, Mohamed went over our taxes via Zoom; he also presented different scenarios of what our numbers looked like based on various filing status: married filing separate verses filing joint. Most of all, we appreciate Mohamed's advice for future tax filing. After speaking with him, we realized that we needed to purchase a home. Moreover, Mohamed is now our CPA, and we look forward to doing business with him in the future.

My business was growing faster than I could handle and I knew I had to hire an accountant ASAP. It was a bit unusual to be messaged via Thumbtack, so I naturally researched the heck out of Mohamed before I hired him and connected my accounts. But now a few months in, so far everything's going great. He did several things for me and goes beyond just doing your usual books, always answering literally within minutes to anything you need. I asked him to set up an LLC for me, and honestly, it's so much more rewarding to help someone else put food on their family's table than to give your money to a big corporation like Legalzoom. He also has a bookkeeper - Sandy. She's one of the kindest people you'll ever talk to on the phone. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The pricing is based on a few factors, the main factor is the level of complexity. For example, our hourly bookkeeping rates are not as high as our business consulting rates. All prices will be provided upfront and in writing, and if you need a detailed explanation, one will be provided.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The most common answer given in this profession is…. It depends. If you are a client that needs tax preparation assistance, I will schedule a meeting to go over the previous return as well as give you a detailed list of items that I need in order to prepare your current return.
If, for example you are in need of tax resolution assistance, first I will send you a client questionnaire that will help me assess your case and take action quickly.
If you are a non-profit that files a 990, in order to maintain your status, you must file at least a 990N form every three years.
I say all that to say that each client will be handled differently, but the goal in each interaction is to make sure you receive quality service at a reasonable cost.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Western Governors University. I am licensed by the state of Georgia as a CPA and I am an Enrolled Agent as well. I am also a certified QuickBooks pro-advisor. Since the tax changes this year are the largest in 30 years, my continuing professional education for 2018 was triple that of any other year.
