FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The fact that I am licensed in Georgia says that I complete at least 24 hours of continuing education every two years, with at least 12 of those hours in a hands-on classroom setting. In addition to that, I am subscribed to several professional publications, and participate in several massage therapy discussion groups. So.... yes.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Having been told many times that I had "really good hands", I decided to pursue professionally developing what I considered to be a gift that I was born with. My mission is to facilitate the body's own wonderful capacity to heal, and by offering massage, I feel that I am engaged in something much bigger than myself.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common service that I do is full body relaxation with deep tissue massage and flexibility enhancement through joint movement and passive stretching. The next most common is providing pain relief for those with chronic or acute pain. The next most common treatment is neuromuscular therapy which is somewhere between deep tissue and Rolfing. I dabble with reflexology, and have also treated clients with Polarity Therapy, which works with energy fields of the body.
