I recently hired a spray foam company for attic insulation, and my experience was ultimately disappointing despite some initial optimism. The owner assured me the team was highly experienced, but I later found out that one of the workers had only six months of experience and admitted it was his first time working on a house attic. Rather than being trained or supervised, he was tasked with doing the job himself—an approach that clearly compromised the results. I paid full price for removal of the existing insulation and installation of new spray foam. However, when they first claimed the job was complete, there was still a significant amount of original insulation left behind—despite this being a core part of the contract. I had also requested that the foam be trimmed to allow for future drywall installation, and none of that had been done either. The workmanship throughout was subpar. There were visible gaps and unfinished areas. In one instance, when I pointed out that sunlight was still coming through the foam, the “fix” was to grab a discarded chunk of foam from the ground and seal it in place with canned foam. Multiple times, I found both workers lying on the floor in my foyer during work hours. The inexperienced worker often looked overwhelmed and exhausted. After I raised many of the issues, the team had to return and spend an entire day redoing and fixing what they had claimed was already finished. They were at my home until 10:30 p.m.—a clear indication that the job was far from done when they first said it was. Safety was also a major concern. They left a large vacuum machine running directly outside my open front door, with the exhaust blowing into the house—setting off my carbon monoxide alarm. Even after I raised the alarm, it took several minutes for them to act while the alarms continued to sound. They caused damage throughout the house. A hole was made in my closet ceiling when they dropped equipment. Their attempted repair used the wrong paint and left large, mismatched test patches. Tape used to secure protective sheeting tore the varnish off my hardwood floors. Spray foam was left stuck to my carpet. They also tore the weather stripping off my front door, struggled to reinstall it, and now the door is harder to close. The owner offered a $20 discount to cover all of these damages—completely inadequate given the extent of the issues. Perhaps most frustrating of all, the insulation hasn’t delivered the promised performance. The attic still reaches 97°F while it’s only 80°F outside, and my upstairs HVAC system is now struggling to keep the space cool. I paid full price, didn’t rush them, and expected a professional job. What I got was a mess I’ve had to manage and correct. To the owner's credit, he was responsive and acknowledged many of the issues. He agreed to come back and address some concerns. But the lack of oversight, poor execution, safety lapses, property damage, and overall performance have left me frustrated and disappointed. I sincerely hope future clients are met with a truly professional, qualified crew and receive the quality and care that were promised from the start.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Spray foam pricing will depend on several factors including the type of foam that’s used, the thickness of the foam applied to meet code, and the size of the building or space. Other factors may involve accessibility, time required to complete the job, the distance traveled, and special equipment i.e. lifts and scaffolding required to complete the job.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During the initial phone consultation, customers share their biggest pain points regarding insulation. Customers are allowed to ask questions and gain knowledge on the spray foam process. Whether it’s high energy bills, leaking roofs, outdated insulation, pests and rodents, we work with the customer to set up a home our business visit to assess the best course of action. Upon visiting, we may capture photos and videos to share with the team. We also consider accessibility positions for our equipment. Following the visit, Peach Spray Foam will provide a written quote and work with the customer to schedule a service date.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our technicians have undergone Spay Foam Applicators training courses and are industry certified to service residential homes and commercial roofs.
