FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Complicated? The most complicated thing about our pricing in knowing for sure what our current material cost will be. Many factors affect our cost of materials and therefore our prices sometimes change dramatically within a short period of time. For instance, last January, I priced a reasonably good sized kitchen and secured the contract. The following week when I ordered the materials, the price of plywood had gone up 28% in a matter of a few days. This increase was due to import levies on the wood. I had to suffer the loses incurred as a result of my material cost increase.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started working in a cabinet shop sweeping floors after school when I was 14. My first true love was woodworking. In the past, I have expanded to include General Contracting, Electrical, and Plumbing but I have never left my first true love; cabinetry and woodworking.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
We do LOTS of various projects. However, our most common type of job is kitchen and bath cabinets for single family homes. We also produce all types of moldings, complete trim packages including solid wood doors, and solid wood "butcher block" counter-tops.
