Introduction: House of Paws is quite unique. What makes my boarding different from others is, I only crate dogs at bedtime and I only board up to 8 dogs at any given time I believe it is important that every dog has the opportunity to enjoy their stay with me. By eliminating crating and limiting the number of dogs I care for, my furry four-legged guests they are able to really enjoy their stay at House of Paws. By caring for fewer dogs than most boarding facility, I have the opportunity to spend plenty of time with each and every dog. On those few times when I'm not available to give belly rubs, the dogs are given plenty of time outdoors to explore my large, secured fenced backyard. I actually don't consider caring for dogs a job at all. How could taking care of and playing with dogs be a job? If you love what you do, and I do, it can't really qualify as a job. It is loving what I do that has kept me working in the pet industry for over 25 years. When dogs come to board with me at House Of Paws, they are happy and content during their stay. And why wouldn't they be? They have everything they want and need. That's what House of Paws is all about.

I called Terry about my 8 month old Husky Sky. More than a handful needless to say he needed her bad! After 2 weeks with Terry I have a totally different dog that responds to commands, walks are fun and he respects me and the family now. Wow!! Thanks- couldn't be more thankful!

I am so pleased with grooming of all three of my Cavaliers. Cav hair can be challenging and in the past we have had issues with bad grooming, careless shaving and such. Maria did a fabulous job on all three and they love her! So happy to have found OUR groomer for good:-)

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I feel like my pricing is equal to if not better than others with the same style boarding program as I have at House of Paws. I provide discounts for more than one dog which is extremely helpful for people who have more than one dog.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before a dog comes to board at House of Paws, I have a phone consultation with the pet owner to determine exactly what they are looking for their dogs. Once we have come to an understanding of what they need for their dog, I set up a meet & greet with the client and their dog. At the meet & greet, the client can check out where their dog will be staying. I answer any questions or concerns they may have about boarding their dog. Once all questions are answered and the client feels totally comfortable about boarding their dog, we sit down and schedule their dogs boarding at House of Paws.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I believe that no amount of education trumps experience. Experience working with dogs or all sizes, temperaments and behavioral problems is what is needed to have a successful boarding business. Over the past 25+ years, I have worked as a groomer, dog trainer and pet sitter. At this time, I'm devoting all of my time to my boarding business. Many years of working with all breeds, sizes and temperaments, I feel I have the knowledge and experience required to handle any situation that may arise while caring for other people dogs.
