FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a master price list based on time and materials. I typically charge for my time based on travel time + shoot time. For print images, I provide a package price list depending on the type of event. I have a professional photo lab linked to my web site and my pricing includes a mark-up to cover my time to prepare images for printing. For digital images only, pricing is essentially for the time of image retouching,
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I consult with my client to understand their vision for what they would like their photographer to capture. Sometimes the objective is a factual capture of real estate photos that emphasize the positives of the property by correcting for issues with lighting and color. Portraits are typically retouched to show "your best self". Modeling headshots range from basic close-ups to more artistic rendering using light and color.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am self-taught through more than 20 years of studying photography in conjunction with Adobe Photoshop. No substitute for hands on camera experience backed up with learning from the experts via textbooks, videos, and online training seminars.
