Introduction: Hello, you may call me Colette or your dog's new best friend! As mentioned, I am a certified dog trainer who graduated through the Animal Behavior College. I advocate positive training methods as I have found adverse methods to cause a strain on your relationship with your dog. Many studies have been done on the effects of pinch, choke, and electric collars and they all point to increased stress levels. I see dog training as a job for your dog. You wouldn't work for free or if you were being "bitten" or punished, right? Why should your dog, and, no, positive dog training doesn't mean that you have to rely on treats for the rest of your life, but wouldn't want to surprise your pal with their favorite snack every once in your while? After all, they are man's best friends. I offer in-home dog training in which I give you the tools to work with your dog on basic training ( recall, sit, stay, down, loose-leash and some fun tricks ) and obedience or behavior modification. If I can't help you for whatever reason, I will point you in the right direction. I would never tackle a problem I wasn't certain of as this could cause more harm than good. I can also assist you with digging, barking, house-training, leash-pulling and much more! Are you going out of town? I would be glad to watch your pooch while you are away. Your dog can look forward to trips to the dog park, a minimum of two walks a day and plenty of running and rumbling with dogs. They are allowed on my furniture unless you say otherwise (and I will be sure to clarify), or they are free to lay in the doggie fort. I also have kennels for those who prefer solitude, but cages are your dog's choice! Unless I need to step out (never more than two hours), your dog will not be kenneled and even then, my boyfriend or roommate are usually home and love to assist me. I am also proud to offer doggie daycare out of my home. I love offering this as I love dogs, but I don't necessarily want a whole pack all of the time. Your dog gets to socialize with my well-balanced pack, and my dogs get to have fun too. Best of all, they aren't left home alone all day or are in the over-crowded, stressful environment that dog daycare tend to offer. I make sure to set up a meet and greet beforehand to make sure it will be a good match. Finally, my boyfriend, Clay is a film and photography major graduating from SCAD and offers pet photography for your furry pal. He has been doing photography for about six years now and has a passion for dogs and capturing those special, quirky and fun moments.
