- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was in the habit of providing for my neighbors rides to the airport. Usually, my neighbors would pay me for a tank of gas. When I needed a ride to the airport in Atlanta, my neighbors were always reluctant and had excuses as to why it was inconvenient to return the favor. I realized that if I was having this difficulty getting to the Airport, then perhaps others were also experiencing such a difficulty. I saw this need and decided to provide a solution.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most commonly I provide transportation for students from the University of Georgia, and/or their family members for flights in and out of Atlanta. I also get customers that would rather rent an automobile from their base destination of Athens, rather than rent an auto from Atlanta and then drive to Athens.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Although I advertise on Craigslist and other places, it is best to keep personal info private and somewhat cryptic when first contacting a private driver or any other private service person. I fully understand this need for privacy and try to provide my service information with enough detail to develop a trust before I close the deal and get into specifics about pick-up and destination locations as well a flight information and client identifying characteristics.
