Introduction: Ron Tongue is an award-winning pianist and international recording artist. He currently lives and teaches in Woodstock, GA just outside of Atlanta.
Ron has over 19 years of teaching experience, including piano, guitar, voice, choir, general music, music technology, music theory, music history and musical theater.
He has worked with hundreds of students throughout the US, many of whom have gone on to pursue careers in music. He has won several awards, including the concerto competition during his undergrad years and is an inductee of the International Honor Society for Educators, Kappa Delta Pi.
Ron began studying the piano at an early age and within a few short years, knew that he would make music his life passion and career. He attended SUNY Fredonia in Upstate NY and double majored in music education and piano performance. He received his Master's of Science degree from IUPUI (Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis) in music technology.
On top of Ron's musical talents, he is also an experienced sound designer, video editor and web designer. He has done the sound design for hundreds of TV commercials, which have aired in all of the major US markets. He has done video production in several major cities throughout the country. He is also part owner of the popular niche magazine, Classic Drummer Magazine.
In late 2011, Ron released his first solo piano album titled "Rahn, If Only" featuring all original music. His album can be heard on Pandora as well as the background music for thousands of businesses throughout the world. His album is available at all of the major online music retailers, including iTunes, Amazon and CD Baby.
Ron can regularly be seen onstage in venues throughout the Atlanta area playing in the popular '80s cover band, Moby Dick. They have played some 400 shows and counting while opening up for bands such as Warrant, L.A. Guns, Great White, The Bullet Boys, Tito Jackson. He also played keyboards for the Swedish sensation, Ulrika with American Idol producer, Tricky Stewart.
