Jon is absolutely FANTASTIC! He photographed a week long international company event for us. Our attendees traveled from all over the globe to Hawaii and we tasked him to capture various images including business, social events and island activities. Jonâs skills are excellent and were appropriate for each of our events. He beautifully captured the expressions, emotions and engagement of our attendees. His photography portrayed the story lines of each event during the week. Jon is well rounded and his attention to detail is impeccable. He is very versatile in the types of images he captured, including individuals, groups and surrounding environment all done beautifully in candid detail. He was extremely informative, in addition to photography services, he also made wonderful recommendations, for entertainment, advised us on traffic for our afternoon of activities and was responsive to calls/emails/texts. He was very timely and professional, working from early morning until after our late night events. His courteous, respectful, and passionate demeanor made it a pleasure to work with him. More importantly, he understands the importance of not disrupting an event with his photographs. He blended in and was part of our global team. We would recommend him time and time again!

Jon photographed our wedding at Waimea Valley and was absolutely fabulous! He came to our house early to take pre-wedding photos. He brought a second photographer to the ceremony and reception to be able to get multiple angles of all of the important stuff. For the portrait portions Jon had a great balance of suggesting photos for us to take and letting us decide what we wanted.
After about three weeks we got a link to the full batch of edited photos. They are completely amazing! Jon edited many more than we originally agreed on, we were blown away by the quality of his work. The unedited photos were really great too and we were so happy to be able to go back and relive our wedding day.
We highly recommend Jon for wedding or any other photography needs. He is on time and professional and so great to work with.

Jon was great! He showed up on time and ready to work! I was particularly impressed with how well he handled photographing my 6-year-old nephew. My nephew is at that stage where he has that strange smile that kids do. Jon was able to get really great and natural photos of him. I am extremely happy with the photos we received, and I am grateful for the memories made in Hawaii. The photos will be treasured for years to come! I would definitely recommend him!

A fun family portrait session at a beach house!
Even though the location was just perfect, Monique and her family were down-to-earth and just genuinely nice people... and that's what really made it so enjoyable.
The posed family shots with the ocean and Mokoli`i island, the candid walking shots on the shore, and the sand writing photos were all so fun to do! The conversation, though, now that was my favorite. Turning clients into friends is one of the joys of my work and I have Monique to thank for that.

We had the most amazing experience with Jonathan. He had a huge task ahead of him taking pictures of my family including 6 adults and 2 kids (6 and 4), and 18 month old!! He some how managed to capture absolutely stunning pictures of our family that we will be able to cherish forever. He was very patient with the 3 kids, especially when they were hot and completely over the idea of taking any more pictures! He was open to any ideas we had and had plenty of his own. He knows the island well and the best places to go for breathtaking pictures. We received our pictures incredibly quickly (overnight!!!). We are so thankful for Jonathan and the memories he helped us capture that will last a lifetime.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always start with a clear introduction delivered with genuine aloha. There's no better way to start any relationship... not at all.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Read, read, read... watch, watch, watch. I love seeing the work of my peers, and learning how they've incorporated their creativity into their work. Most people in my field are very happy to share their "secrets."
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I don't think I decided it... it's just alway been a part of me. :)
