Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I don't believe in competition, I think there's enough for everyone. That said, I have an eye for detail. I have an eye for beauty. I take the time to make my images pop. Mostly though, I think it comes down to the person holding the camera. Its much easier to be photographed if you actually LIKE the person snapping pictures of you, and that's probably my strongest trait. I'm a fun, normal, good person and I make people feel comfortable. I love the idea of new challenges and new adventures. New clients. New stories. I love taking pictures and I love editing them. I like being able to create beautiful things.

Brandon Smith has photographed me on numerous occasions and each time he was very personable which made the shoot very comfortable which I feel is a huge thing. He was very professional and made sure everything we did was how I wanted. His editing skills at the end were flawless and made sure I looked my best every time.

I'm starting a new blog site and my partners and I need some good photography. I've never really enjoyed the process of having my pictures taken until I tried Brandon. He actually made it fun and enjoyable! He has an amazing ability to make me feel comfortable in front of the camera and his directions are very clear. We only did a quick session, but he ended up getting quite a few great shots. We plan to continue using Brandon as our main photographer for our site. I would recommend him to everyone! He is also a great guy that's nice to be around. www.spoonfulofparadise.com will be featuring some of his shots.

Brandon is simply Amazing! He really helped me capture the looks I was going for and helped me create beautiful memories of my favorite aspects of Honolulu/Waikiki! Since I was visiting, I didn't have a car. Brandon picked me up from my location and brought me back & he even let me borrow his surfboard for some of the shots. I was so thankful for that! I had a few changes & Brandon was so flexible with me & he also made me feel extremely comfortable and safe with him. I think that's so important because comfort makes for a good shoot. He also provided me with guidance & pose direction. I learned so much from him & appreciated him showing me some of the pics right after he took them so I could get a good feel for how I was positioned etc. Overall, I'm just wowed by him! Communicating was so easy and he knew exactly what I was looking for after our initial talk which made me choose him over the other photographers on the site. I'm grateful to Thumbtack for connecting me with such a talented, charismatic, kind, and professional photographer! Mahalo Nui Loa!

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am constantly taking online workshops and studying new techniques for shooting and editing. Photoshop is a beast and it requires constant continuing education for me to stay on top it.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

My best friends are photographers. After a while, things kinda start to rub off on you. We also took some roadtrips thru the Pacific Northwest and Southwest and traveling with a wedding photographer and a landscape photographer really gets the bug implanted deep. I saw how much I loved finding the beauty in the frame and it kind of evolved from there.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Go with your gut. Choose someone you like. The rest will flow from there.
