The Painters

I came up through the ranks painting when I was offered a position at Sherwin Williams. I worked my way up to a retail manager of the busiest store in Ia. at that time. One of the most reputable painters was getting ready to retire and offered to sell me his company. I didn't have enough money and was reluctant to give up the position at Sherwin Williams. He and my banker knew each other and along with him financing part and lowering his price below what he had been offered by a other contractor. I bought him out and have never looked back. I was still in touch with him in Arizona till he passed away. I always told him Thank you, for giving such a young man a wonderful opportunity. My favorite part is what I call the "Wow" factor. In painting or remodeling the most time is in prep and preparing to finish. Sometimes it seams to the average homeowner that all the painting is done in one day. They leave in the morning and when they return. There home is exactly what they wanted and more. I always do the little extra things that they didn't ask. cleaning gutters, pulling weeds. Etc. I love that look in their eye's when it is their home "With a brand new feel"
