FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

My father owned a painting business and I have been painting since I was 10. I have enjoyed painting from a young age and after attending business school at the University of Iowa, decided to stay in the painting field and make Primetime Painting one of the best painting companies in Iowa City and North Liberty.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

At Primetime Painting we do a lot of Interior and Exterior Painting and a lot of deck staining projects. Many times we get calls from people who either hate painting or hate heights. We deal with everything from repainted rooms, accent walls and stairwells to brand new home priming, painting and trim work. In other words, if it can be painted, we can take care of it for you!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure that any one you hire lists the things specifically that they will be providing. Sometimes it can be hard to tell one contractor from another without knowing the different processes. Be sure to look for the details or ask a contractor when finding someone to paint. Missed steps in prep work or finishing work can have a big effect on the final product and how long it will last for! For example, deck staining, the difference between a contractor who will power wash, prep the entire house surround, sand the wood, then stain, versus someone who just shows up and puts stain on the deck. The ladder is not prepping the deck to take in the stain and thus you would have a sub par product and a deck that would need to be re-stained the following summer.
