We will call or email you back! We are very friendly and very responsive. We know your time is valuable. We have a large lighting and music setup, and a HUGE music library with both classic and new hits. Despite our top-of-the-line equipment and service, we are reasonably priced. In fact, we are less expensive than anyone we've seen with a large setup like ours.

Jim and Erin DJed our wedding in Iowa City, and they were the best DJs we could have possibly hired. They were willing work with our budget to offer their services at an affordable price, and they guaranteed us six hours, which meant that we didn't have to worry about the dance being cut short. They were fantastic at following the mood of the room and using our requests to create an outstanding playlist. They arrived on time and were completely professional the entire evening. My now-mother-in-law pointed out after the wedding that the volume of the music was perfect: loud enough to create a party atmosphere, but not so loud that people who wanted to converse felt like they had to yell. Their work was excellent start to finish! We highly recommend Hiring Portable Playlist.

My husband and I booked Portable Playlist DJ to play for our wedding in 2020, and they were absolutely wonderful to work with. They are incredibly organized and made our wedding night stress free as they were very involved in helping the night run smoothly, as well as making sure everything happened according to our vision. Not only were they the DJs, but they were prepared to emcee for the night, and they did a great job. They are a very professional and experienced duo, through the planning process they thought of so many important details that I never would have considered in planning the wedding, and their genuine and caring personalities make them very easy to work with. They really care about what they do, they do great work, and I would highly recommend their services for any event!

Jim & Erin are amazing. When looking for a DJ I wanted to work with someone who actually listened to what I wanted, was flexible, affordable, and who would be able to handle situations when guests may push songs or requests we did not want played. Well we basically hit the jackpot. Jim went above and beyond for us- everytime I spoke with him leading up to the wedding he was SO nice and really listened to what I wanted for my reception. He basically customized our reception to reflect exactly what we wanted. He even went as far as to cut our music for our first dance to fit our time frame and it sounded perfect. He also mixed two songs for us and made it sound like one song for the son/mother dance and it sounded incredible (ppl were talking about it long after the reception). During the reception there was a hiccup with some family members trying to push a song we REALLY didn't want played and they handled it with professionalism and only came to me when needed. They let me really be able to enjoy my reception and not have to worry. They handled the overload of song requests perfectly and their own music selection was perfect. Our dance floor was packed from the very first song to the very last. I could go on and on- I HIGHLY recommend!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    We have a much larger lighting and audio setup than typical mobile DJs. We include two DJs for every event to handle all music and activities simultaneously. We go over and above to work with our clients to customize their event. While our pricing is fair, we are not a budget DJ service. For dances our prices start at $500. For weddings our prices start at $650. Please view our website for more information.
