Introduction: My work is results driven. I focus on both improving the student's grade and developing studying strategies that the student can use going forward. My strong math background and experience applying it allows me to help students understand not just what they're doing, but why they're doing it. As a recent graduate of the University of Iowa, I've been in the student's shoes. I've excelled in the coursework and understand what it takes to excel at the next level. My approach to problem solving subjects is sure to help students see the bigger picture and improve their overall performance. Tutoring is not a job to me. It's an opportunity to help others, and that is what I am truly passionate about. Great service! I used Transform Tutoring for my Financial Management, Business Statistics, and Statistics for Strategy Problems classes at the University of Iowa. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Research is the foundation of Transform's approach to tutoring. I perform weekly research on tutoring methods/trends and share my findings through various media outlets. My mentality is to stay one step ahead to ensure that the student is receiving the most effective training available.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Throughout my academic career I wasnât exposed to the type of guidance other students had available to them. My mother had to work nights and we could not afford extra academic assistance. Because of my circumstances I had to teach myself, and come up with my own study strategies to understand challenging material. This is a skill that many students lack, but one that can be developed. As I started college I had the opportunity to receive tutoring for the first time and as a result of this guidance I was able to perform at a higher level in my courses. After realizing the benefits of academic training I was inspired to share my skills with those who need assistance. I started Transform to help students maximize their academic potential, and develop learning techniques that they can apply in school and throughout their careers.
