FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices vary depending on the complexity of the project. If it's some basis design, lettering, or abstract that will be cheaper than a full on realistic mural where scale, detail, proportions and shading are the foremost important factors. If you have a budget, make sure to let me know and I will do my best to work with you. When it's all said and done, I want my customers to be satisfied.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to figure out whether they want a mural or a custom painting (canvas). Next, we figure out the ideas they have in mind, how big we're going and beyond that we talk price. Once those elements have been established, I hit the drawing board and render some designs. Upon design approval, I get to painting.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a self taught artist. My high school art teacher was a great inspiration but beyond that, my work is very organic. I have had the opportunity to speak about my profession at Boise State a handful of times as well as put on an art exhibition located in their Student Union Building some years back. I have spoken at the Boise City Public Art Academy which is a class offered by the Arts and History Dept. that educates artists on the public art process. In 2017, my painting partner and I (Sector Seventeen) received the Mayor's Award for Excellence in the Arts as an emerging organization. It is opportunities such as these that are the equivalent of a degree or proper training. It's taking your dreams and making them a reality!
