I'll read and edit your book or script. I have a Bachelor Degree with minors in Interdisciplinary Writing and Rhetoric and Geography. I enjoy science fiction and historical books and often read 1000 pages a week or more depending on the book and writer's style.
I am pedantic, which means I sometimes find myself caught up in the details others overlook. Examples are: to, two, too, there, their, they're. Misspelled words and incorrect use of words stand out to me.
Redundancy is another point I consider. If the author uses a word multiple times in a paragraph or too often in the book, I will point it out and help them find another suitable word.
Grammar is important. I recently read a book where the author used a colloquialism outside the character's speech. I'm sorry folks but "unthaw" is not a word. If it were, it would mean freeze not defrost.
I have tutored others in writing and English. I have also helped a blind author edit her manuscript.
I enjoy reading. I love words and strive to provide the best service I possibly can. I have the tools needed, including many texts and a four inch thick dictionary in book form. I rarely use the online versions because frankly they often have incorrect spellings.
