I promised Jenna a review, so not wanting to attempt to do so on my phone, I've finally logged into a real computer to type this out. When we first brought Ritter into our family, I knew that we needed to invest into him to bring out his full potential. I also knew that with three younger children and my wife and I working full time, we were not going to be able to offer an environment where we could really train Ritter to where he needed to be by ourselves, or even through group classes. Valor K9 (Spokane, in full disclosure, but Jenna was an instructor there at the time) was recommended to me by a friend and we started out doing some drop-in puppy classes, then once Ritter was around one year old, we enrolled him in a four week custom board and train program.Jenna is fantastic. I love my dog and tend to give him slack (read: be inconsistent.) She would have none of it. And believe you me, Ritter was like a brand new dog when she brought him back to us after those four weeks. The fact that he can exercise on our treadmill in the mornings before we head to work is worth the price of admission. Even at the midpoint, his progress was clearly evident. Now, it still required (requires!) effort and consistency to continue to have a dog who behaves and obeys. But most certainly the foundation is there and we wouldn't have had that without Jenna and Valor.I'm in the WA Air National Guard and I was recently activated for the COVID-19 response over on the west side of the state. Because I knew that Ritter was trained and would be well behaved, I brought him with me. Some days he'd come to work with me, others he'd stay in my hotel room. But I guarantee that I would not have even considered that without the tangible results of his training with Valor.I know it can be expensive - but look at this as an investment into your dog's future. I can only speak for myself, but I know that it was worth every penny. Thank you, Jenna!

I cannot recommend ValorK9 enough to any dog owner. My lab, Tuga, went through the Puppy Head Start Board and Train program with Amy when which gave him an incredible foundation. She helped with his crate training, potty training, learning basic commands, and taught me how to support his developmental growth. Once he was 6 months, I scheduled his Good Dog Board & Train with Jenna. Hes been home for a month now and I couldnt be happier. He is attentive, obedient, and an absolute joy to have as a dog. Before the Good Dog Board & Train, walking was difficult as he always pulled on the leash, his recall wasnt consistent, he didnt know how to just chill, and we had major issues with going out around other animals (especially my parents cats) as he just wanted to play with everyone. Now, he has phenomenal leash manners, his recall is fantastic, hes learned manners around other animals, and he knows how to just hang out and do nothing while I work. Not only did Amy and Jenna set up Tuga for success, they also have been a huge support for me and have taught me how to best communicate with Tuga, continue Tugas training, creative ways to exercise Tuga (physically and mentally), and just incorporate him into my life. Tuga and I have lots of tools in our toolbox to work on any future training and any new adventures we embark on. Thanks for all the help and support ValorK9, Tuga and I appreciate you!

We are so thankful for Amy and the Valor K9 Academy. Our 4 month old puppy, Snoots, completed the two week board and train program and the difference in our pup is night and day!At our initial meeting with Amy, she listened to our priorities, identified Snoots needs, and educated us on the best way to set him up for success.Over the two weeks, Snoots built up confidence with new places, surfaces, and animals - he was very nervous around other dogs and is now making other puppy friends!Snoots learned how to stay in his crate and not demand bark/whine for attention (we are now sleeping again ), basic obedience training, and the art of doing nothing - we are receiving SO many compliments. Amy was great at keeping us updated, sharing videos, photos, and messages whenever we were missing him extra. She is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and goes out of her way, even after training, checking in and offering advice. Thank you!!!We cannot say enough amazing things about Valor K9 Academy and plan to continue working with them throughout Snoots training.

We have been working with Valor K9 for over 5 years and have built great trust and a valuable relationship with Amy and her team. We trusted her to hand select our newest member of the family. Mac is in training to be a service dog and spent 4 weeks in Boise with Jenna. Jenna was simply amazing with Mac and built a great foundation for his future career as a working dog. She proved to be a stellar dog trainer and Mac is a prime example of her skills. We could not be more happy with the complete experience with Valor K9 Boise. We continue to be so impressed with the knowledge and training Valor K9 offers that we have plans to send Mac back to Jenna to continue his service dog training. We cannot thank this team enough for their dedication and support throughout Macs journey. We full heartedly recommend Valor K9 Boise!

Maisie, our 1yo golden retriever just completed a 4-week BnT with Trainer Jenna in Boise. I found Valor after doing extensive research into service dog training. So many other trainers had philosophies I did not agree with - purely positive or simply slapping on an e-collar and stimming the dog into the desired behavior. Valors relationship-based, balanced training was exactly what I was looking for. Maisie completed 5 virtual lessons with Jenna starting when she was 5 months old. Jenna broke down training into actionable steps, and was able to explain the WHY behind each step. As a first time handler, my education was just as important as Maisies and Jenna helped me grow in my confidence as a handler. As soon as we could, we booked a BnT with Jenna. Although we are located in CT, I knew four weeks with Valor was simply the best option to set my dog up for success with service work. Before the BnT, Maisie struggled with curbing her energy, settling in public, and duration work. It was clear even from the first few days of her stay that Jenna was doing tremendous work with Maisie. After four weeks, Maisie has become a more mentally mature dog, who tasks reliably and has phenomenal public access skills. She is able to settle for hours on end, and has become a neutral, handler focused dog. We cannot thank Jenna and Amy enough for their work with Maisie. Her abilities as a service dog have drastically increased my quality of life and I highly recommend Valor and Jenna to anyone who is looking for superior service dog training.
