I called Pat for unclogging my toilet when my 2 yr old dropped toilet paper holder into it. The thing got wedged in there and after multiple tries was not retrieved. Finally he unlodged the block creatively. He was professional and worked on the task patiently.
Details: 1 toilet • Less than a week ago • Municipal water (most common) • Townhouse

1" porcelain hex tile installation, 9" x 10" sheets. Good: nice job keeping tiles aligned at door threshold, and tile pattern running straight. Offered good advice about trim option for the tub and floor edge; I will use his suggestion. Poor: lots of tiles with corners not level with rest of tiles, enough so that it hurt to walk on them; lots of tiles with bad spacing within the individual sheets, and some mismatch between tile sheets. didn't try to fit tiles around rear radiator feet; just piled up grout around them. poor grout job overall; not level with tile surface anywhere.
I broke out over 100 of the worst tiles (spacing and not level) and replacing them myself. I dug out the grout around the rear radiator feet and am cutting tiles to fit around them. I contacted Pat after the installation with the complaints; he came by and we discussed the issues. I offered to help him remedy the issues, he agreed to come by; never showed up; cashed my check; I'm done with him.
Baths by Patrick's reply
What happened was: I stopped by and saw some issues with my job and arranged to meet David the following Saturday to make repairs. I called him in the morning on that Saturday to get an exact time and left a message. He called me back about 5 pm that afternoon telling me he's been busy. Then I offered to stop by the following Sunday, but he replied "It's Mother's Day and I won't be available." After that, David never called me. Service work, if needed, is as important to me as doing the job. Sometimes things may loosen or I overlook a speck of grout and am more than happy to make repairs. For any of my future customers, let's do communicate.
